 Bacterial Artificial Chromosome (BAC) Project

 BAC libraries are essential resources in model organism research. We are developing a 3x BAC library consisting of 684,737 clones that will be pooled and screened by next generation sequencing and PCR to identify high priority candidate genes for deep sequencing. This NIH funded project will provide resources that are needed to develop scaffolds for genome assembly, develop constructs for transgenic axolotl production, identify coding and non-coding regulatory motifs, enable targeted epigenetic studies, and identify genetic polymorphisms that are associated with complex phenotypes and QTL.
