What tissues can salamanders regenerate? 

A salamander can regenerate any of its limbs, its tail, parts of its brain and spinal cord,

damaged parts of its heart and lungs, and almost any other part of its body, exceptions including the shoulder girdle and parts of the eye. (Morgan, 1901)

Salamanders have life spans varying by species. They live from 3 to 55 years. The axolotl’s life span is on the shorter side of this range.
